Kidney Stone Has Passed!!

Today, just a few minutes ago, this kidney stone passed. While the pain it causes when between the kidney and the bladder is the worst pain I have ever felt, it is no picnic when it goes from the bladder out of the body either. It had been moving down that passage since yesterday late in the afternoon. The caused me to feel and urgency to go and thus I kept waking up every few hours last night. Thankfully, that is now over, and things can heal. Next time I go in to my doctor, I will bring the stone so they can send it out to be tested for composition. Hopefully, this will be the last time for this. Thank-you to everyone who prayed for me during this time. I am thankful that God did not have me go through the discomfort of having to have the stone blasted again. The last time I had that done, and it was almost as bad as the kidney stone for the next week and a half.

I am glad this 'storm' is over. Hope you're feeling all better now...

yes, OUCH! and I'm sure the surface isn't smoothe either! What is the measurement of something like that? Never had seen one before.

All those lighter coloured parts are raised with sharp edges sort of like salt crystals, but these are probably made up of calcium so they are very hard.

Well, like I said, never saw one before. So is the whole thing hard like a stone or is it soft and plyable beneath the surface? You never mentioned the size.

It was 5mm by about 2.5-3mm in size, I guess that would be about a quarter of a inch long and eighth of an inch wide. Doesn't sound very big until one considers the size of the passage it needs to pass through, the sharp edges, and the fact that it is a solid little rock. It is not soft anywhere. I have seen pictures of ones that look much worse than mine though.

OK...that is gross. I'm happy it passed...but did you have to pass it on? ;)

If you think that is bad check out these photos.

huh... so it looks like different "stuff" in the stone affects it's colour. so going by that.. I wonder if yours is a struvite or a calcium oxalate type one

I Kidney stones can form when urine contains too much of certain substances. These substances can create small crystals that become stones.
